In a case of one Israeli company supplying another, a joint venture known as MIRS has contracted with ECI Telecom Ltd. (ECILF) to provide its SDH-Radio system as part of the MIRS high-speed communications project for businesses. ECI Telecom will supply add/drop multiplexers capable of throughputs up to 155 Mbps. As a special feature, ECI Telecom said that its equipment will function as an integrated management solution for both the transmission and radio links. MIRS, a joint venture between Motorola Inc. (MOT) and Ampal- American Israel Corp. (AIS), is building a backbone network to provide a range of telecom services, including voice telephony and messaging, alphanumeric messaging and data communications.
