The biblical Tower of Babel amounted to a scheme by humans to build a structure that would ascend to heaven. God thwarted their plans by confusing their language and rendering them incapable of communicating with one another. Whether or not the story is believable, the inhabitants of Earth comprise a polyglot population.
Roger Rowles, 25, and Julieta Cordovero, 36, launched a language institute in the Treasure Valley in June called CR Languages. They want to help students learn proficiency in at least five of the world's dominant languages: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
The couple first started with the Argentina-born Cordovero's native tongue (Spanish) and then branched out to other languages, going "full steam ahead" as of September, they said.
