NEW YORK -- Sean "Diddy" Combs has more on his mind than his latest name change.
After the hip-hop/fashion mogul debuted a men's signature shoe earlier this month, he unveiled his plans for growing the newest piece of his fashion empire.
"One of the biggest components to young-men's fashion is footwear," Combs told Footwear News in an exclusive interview last week. "I've always felt there was a void in the marketplace for shoes I could wear as a consumer."
The line's first style, the SJ Elite Sneaker, launched in the Sean John flagship store in Manhattan two weeks ago. At press time, more than 500 pairs had been sold, according to Combs.
