In any language, money talks-and that's why credit unions are targeting one of the most lucrative markets today: the Latino business community.
Hernan Pulido, and Eastern Financial Credit Union is serious about earning the business loans and deposit accounts of south Florida's growing (and prosperous) Latino market.
Pulido is AVP-relationship manager for CU Business Capital LLC, the credit union's MBL CUSO, and together with Mercedes Hanabergh, the CU's Latin community development officer and Elizabeth Vento, VP of commercial lending for CUBC, they were speaking to members of the Broward County Latin Chamber of Commerce here.
The Latin Chamber is only one group EFCU has affiliated with, but sponsoring the Eastern Financial District at the arena where the Florida Panthers play ice hockey gives them a private club atmosphere where they can hold meetings and conduct community outreach to such groups. Overlooking the ice rink inside and the still-booming construction from the arena's top-floor, outdoor veranda, they make a strong case for credit unions commanding a hefty slice of the business pie.
