CLEARWATER - Criticism that Rivar Technologies Inc. has abandoned the Tampa Bay area doesn't sit well with Gene Savar, president and chief executive officer of the Clearwater-based company.
Instead of waiting for TechVillage Tampa Bay or the University of South Florida technology incubator to open, Savar took his software development company to south Florida in search of a climate for growth.
Rivar is the home of the patent-pending CODE:NEO Web-application server platform reported to increase Web-access speed by at least 10 times.
The company is a recipient of more than $1 million in angel investment funding. It opened an office in a for-profit technology business accelerator, Cenetec LLC in Boca Raton.
