CFO: act of the Corporon's future

I'm usually wary of any business book authored by a consulting firm, but I must admit CFO: Architect of the Corporation's Future gives one of the best overviews of the changing role of the financial executive I've seen. The construction metaphor drives home the book's main message by casting the senior financial executive as the corporation's designer, drafting blueprints that strongly influence an organization's direction. Of course, Price Waterhouse (now Pricewater-- houseCoopers) doesn't miss the chance to promote one of its software packages throughout. However, the references aren't intrusive, and you don't need the software to use their advice.
