ATLANTA - Robert Brinkley of Brinkley Entertainment and McBride Concessions said the season was a little wet in the spring, but overall, turned out good.
Brinkley, of Walnut Cove, N.C., was here for the International Assn. of Amusement Parks & Attractions convention.
He said Brinkley Entertainment is basically an amusement rental company, working mostly picnics and festivals with 12 rides. "I've been in the carnival business since I was 11," said Brinkley.
He said he started with E.J. and Lela Belle Langley, who were on Buck Shows and Page Shows. She's Roland Page's brother. Page, a former Outdoor Amusement Business Assn. director and manager for Amusements of America, is now retired and living in Tampa.
"They broke me in and I got my education from Larry Wheeler [who owned L.D. Wheeler Amusements]," said Brinkley.
