BOULDER - Chalk this one up to a company that believes technology is just the instrument, not the goal. Not that Lextant Corp. is opposed to a little technology.
"We want technology to be part of people's lives, and there's a lot of work to be done to do that," said Jayson Webb, vice president of services for the Boulder firm. "(The employees) all have a variety of backgrounds in how people live and think."
To facilitate that goal, Lextant has recently unveiled Netlabs, a custom software suite that allows remote observation and participation in customer-research sessions via a secure Internet connection. Clients using Netlabs can monitor mouse and keyboard usage of beta products while at the same time monitoring eye and hand movements of the study participants.
"We've had a couple of successful runs," said Webb, noting the next test session will be international. "The participants will be in Europe and Australia, and the observers will be in Colorado and California."
