Bjorn Erik Naess, the new CFO of Norwegian engineering and construction company Aker Kvaerner, has only been in the role a week when CF catches up with him but already he feels very settled.
Moving to Norway to take up the role as CFO was something of a home coming for Naess - in the fullest sense. As CFO of Carlsberg Breweries, he had spent the last four years living and working in Copenhagen but had, in the summer of 2003, made the decision to return home.
The decision to move preceded the offer from Aker Kvaerner and Naess considers himself fortunate to have timed his move to coincide with the "exciting" events at the company. Naess is referring to the NOK 5.5 billion ($863 million) refinancing of the group by his predecessor...
