Jolly Enterprises Inc. has become a serious player among Alabama's gas station and convenience store chains in the seven short years since opening its first location.
And president Russell Jolly isn't done yet.
His company, which operates 31 Jolly Food Marts in metro Birmingham and beyond, has expanded as far as Cullman, Moody and Talladega.
It is building new stores in upscale suburbs like Vestavia Hills and developing areas such as Lincoln, home of the Honda Odyssey plant.
Its revenue has exploded from just $3.3 million in 1998 to $45 million last year - a 138 percent year-over-year jump from 2001 - while its payroll has ballooned to...
