Automation Alley plans to form the Automation Alley Education and Research Foundation to qualify for grants and funding it has lost out on because it's a membership-based nonprofit.
The announcement was made at the Troybased tech consortium's annual meeting held Tuesday at the Troy Marriott.
Tom Anderson, director of the Troy-based Automation Alley Technology Center involved in creating the subsidiary, said Automation Alley would form a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
