ATTUS Technologies, a Charlotte, N.C.-based financial services software provider for regulatory compliance, homeland security, and fraud prevention, launches WatchDOG Web, the first compliance software solution to run on Microsoft's .NET Web services architecture. ATTUS' WatchDOG family of products allows financial institutions and others to comply with the U.S. PATRIOT Act, Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, and the U.S. Department of Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control regulations - aimed at thwarting terrorism as a result of the Sept. 11 attacks. The first two applications available through Web services are OFAC WatchDOG, which allows companies to monitor the U.S. Department of Treasury's OFAC enemy and terrorist watch list, and GuarclDOG, which monitors the FinCEN list for preventing money laundering. WatchDOG Web's architeeture offers a wide range of integration options for clients to choose from - including direct access through ATTUS' servers, use of a third-party service provider, or installing the software in-house. By installing WatchDOG Web onsite, institutions can cost-effectively monitor government watch lists with minimal effort through their intranet and other internal systems.
