Asus W5FThin-and-light ultraportable runs fast and comes with built-in Web.

The 3.9-pound Asus W5F ultraportable notebook is small but mighty. Our $1499 (as of April 18, 2006) review unit came with a 1.66-GHz Core Duo T2300 chip, 512MB of onboard RAM, and a bottom- accessible memory slot for attaching up to 1GB of memory. The laptop's WorldBench 5 score of 88 compares favorably to the 82 earned by Dell's Inspiron E1505, a full-size entertainment notebook equipped with the same processor and twice as much RAM. The W5F's score was only 16 percent behind that of the average 2-GHz dual- processor notebook with 1GB of RAM.
