Arnold Industries is consolidating its three regional trucking companies into one corporation, Arnold Transportation Services Inc. in Camp Hill.
The reorganization will allow national-account customers to deal with one company instead of three.
The consolidation is more than a name change, however. Arnold transferred about 30 of its employees to Camp Hill. About 20 other employees working in the regional offices lost their jobs.
Arnold's consolidation includes Dalworth Arnold, Grand Prairie, Texas; SilverEagle Arnold, Jacksonville, Fla.; and Leb Arnold, with terminals in Camp Hill; Charlotte, N.C.; Albany, N.Y.; and Dayton, Ohio. It is expected to be completed by the end of 1997.
Arnold Transportation operates primarily in the service-intensive, short-haul markets in the northeast, southeast and southwest states. The average length-of-haul is 350 miles.
