IT'S NOT JUST JOURNALISTS who are accused of plagiarism.
U.S. District Court judge Robert Dawson in Fort Smith recently issued an injunction preventing Jakks Pacific Inc. of Malibu, Calif., from using several copyrighted descriptions of video games, including Ms. Pac-Man, written by Earl Green Jr. of Alma.
Green filed suit in November after he discovered Jakks, which makes controllers that plug directly into television sets to play video games, used his game descriptions without authorization.
Green's attorney, David Wilson of Little Rock, said Jakks has sold millions of video games with Green's descriptions included in the packaging.
Wilson said a trial date is scheduled for November to determine the damages, which are anyone's guess.
