Via mouthwash, could prevent cancer progression
FRANKFURT - A mouthwash containing the attenuated adenovirus ONYX-015 may thwart the progression to cancer in premalignant dysplastic oral lesions, according to Dr. Ezra Cohen, an instructor in medial oncology at the University of Chicago.
"This treatment prevented progression in one-third of the patients we studied," he said in a presentation here at the 14th joint meeting of the European Organization for the Research and Treatment of Cancer, the National Cancer Institute and the American Association for Cancer Research.
