The State of Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration has chosen Ivory Homes to build out 360 acres of trust land in the southern comer of St. George.
Hidden Valley in St. George will mark the return of Ivory Homes to the St. George area. In 1965 company founder Ellis Ivory and his father, E. Clark Ivory, were instrumental in creating the Bloomington area of St. George, which is located 1.5 miles from the Hidden Valley project.
"This is where we got our start in a big way in the Utah real estate market," said Clark Ivory, president of Ivory Homes. "Now we have an opportunity to go back and do a wonderful project that will be an asset to the community."
The Hidden Valley project will include 995 units of mixed use housing that will range from apartments and townhomes to single family homes and estate lots. The project will be managed by Colin Wright, Ivory's southern Utah area manager.
The main concept of the project has already been approved by the city. All entitlements are in place, thanks to the Trust Lands Administration. Wright said that Ivory homes will "tweak" that plan a little, which will require some input and approvals from the city, "but as far as the number of units and the density, that has already been approved," he said.
