A location ship hang in the middle of the Scottish Highlands means environmental concerns are close to home for Cairngorm Mountain. The venue comprises a base station, funicular, restaurant and exhibition area, as well as views that catch the breath. It can accommodate 80 for theatre-style meetings or 140 for dinner in the Ptarmigan. Scotland's highest eatery. As well as a number of measures to protect the local countryside, food is locally sourced, carbon donations encouraged, composting practised and fair-trade goods marketed. The venue has attracted pharmaceutical firms, brewing houses and petroleum companies, among others.

First things first: this is nowhere near South London. Exmoor National Park plays home to Croydon Hall, a holistic venue geared towards self-development and personal growth. The main building boasts the Quantock Hills as a backdrop and offers extensive leisure facilities alongside its event spaces. Five function areas are on site, among them the Zen Room and the Tao Room, and up to 100 delegates can be accommodated. Friends of the Earth and Spectrum are among those organisations to have used the venue.
