One of the most wrenching scenes in the turbulent Vietnam War period was the sight of angry Vietnam veterans throwing their military decorations Canyon III, was organized by the Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW), a veterans' group opposed to U.S. policy in Southeast Asia.
