Types of outstanding leadership, such as transformational, charismatic and visionary, are becoming more and more important to organizations, as workforces become more diverse, technology improves and international competition heightens.
Leadership is important to the change management process, because change, by definition, requires the creation of a new system and the implementation of it.
Organizational change
The nature of change is discontinuous. Long periods of small, incremental change are interrupted by brief periods of discontinuous, radical change. Naturally a great deal depends upon the particular environment in which an organization operates. For instance, the computer industry is representative of an industry accustomed to an extraordinary rate of change that results in multiple product innovation. In this type of industry, organizational survival will depend upon a firm's ability to engage in rapid and continuous change.
Models of logic can be applied in order to gain an insight into the process of change. For example, is change spurred on by conflict or struggle, which results in an organization being "pushed" into action?...
