A 22-year-old man developed tonic-clonic seizure, confusion, aggression, rhabdomyolysis, blood in mouth, acute kindney injury (AKI), metabolic acidaemia, acute respiratory distress syndrome, transaminitis and hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal axis suppression following overdose and abuse of testosterone enanthate.
The man, with a two year history of receiving IM injection of testosterone enanthate 400 mg/day (overdose) for 4-5 weeks, was admitted to the hospital after a witnessed tonic-clonic seizure arising from sleep that lasted around one minute. Though the seizure self-terminated, he was aggressive and post-ictally confused.
