Dudamath (www.dudamath.com) is very powerful, free, online software that is useful to both students and teachers. It allows students to explore mathematical concepts at the elementary and secondary levels, and helps teachers quickly create graphs, geometric sketches, patterns, and more. It was created by Ethan Hall, an engineer-turnedteacher, who is committed to improving this software with feedback from you. From the website: "Dudamath is an integrated environment for interactive exploration of mathematical concepts and problem solving."
Clicking on the question mark brings up the menu shown to the right, which allows you to access to great, short videos on each of Dudamath's widgets. Each video walks you through the main features so that you can quickly start exploring on your own.
To start exploring, click anywhere on the blank canvas, and the tool shown below will pop up. Each section is a different widget.
You can also click on the chevron at the right of the screen to pull up icons for each of the widgets, along with many pre-made formulae, such as the quadratic formula, cosine law, and equation of a circle.
