Sisters in the Struggle: African American Women in the Civil Rights-Black Power Movement and militancy in the late 1960s. Harley argues that although the Cambridge Movement prefigured later forms of protest under her leadership, Gloria Richardson's subsequent "marginalization" (p. 191)-both as a leader and, later, in movement historiography-was due in part to her failure to fit the paradigm of protest of the early 1960s.
