Abstract
This article presents the Brazilian alternatives for technological innovation in the industrial sector, as a result of intra and interrelationships of the vertices of the "Sabato's Triangle". It starts by presenting the foundations of the "Sabato's Triangle" and proceeds with the analysis of the Brazilian policy for science and technology (1973-90), as a product of the intrarelationships of one of the vertices of the said triangle. Then, on the basis of the interorganizational approach and also of the matrix representation, are outlined the Brazilian alternatives for technological innovation, figured by the scientific and technological poles, business technological incubators and technological modernization poles, as a consequence of the Triangle's three vertices interrelationships. Finally, the study exposes restrictions to such alternatives, as well as suggests some crucial recommendations for guaranteeing their success.
