Abstract
Today the recruitment activities are outsourced to professional companies for searching right candidate for the job. The verification of educational and experience credentials of candidate is a key task in selection process. The background checks and verification of educational and experience credentials of potential candidate have become essential task for HR department so that the organization can avoid recruiting wrong person by any means. If no such background check is conducted or educational and experience credentials are not cross checked, company may have to pay big price. In this paper, an attempt is made to over view the practice of "Third party verification" with the help of literature review and case studies.

Introduction
The task of scientific recruitment and selection(S & R) of employees is considered as most vital function of the Human Resource (H.R) department in any organization. The major gains of S &R are as highlighted below:
* Right job for the Right Person: Scientific recruitment and selection policy helps to reach the goal "the right man for the right job", and "the right job for the right man".
* Reduction in Labor Absenteeism and Turnover: Scientific recruitment and selection policy helps to reduce both labor absenteeism and laborturnover. The candidates get job satisfaction, and may have a high morale.
* Reduction in wastages, damages and accidents: The scientific selection policy results in the selection of qualified and interested employees. These employees are likely be careful while working, handling machines and materials. This reduces wastage and avoids damages and accidents.
* Minimizes training and supervision Costs:The selection of right candidates results into a talented man power pool in an organization. Such employees require less training and supervision. This leads to reduction in training and supervision cost.
* Improves goodwill of the Company:The motivated employees are the assets of the company. They maintain very good relations with the shareholders, customers, public etc. This builds the goodwill of the company.
* High morale: The employees who are selected through scientific selection policy are satisfied with their jobs. This leads to High employeemorale bringing many benefits to the company.
* High performance and productivity: The employees thus selected perform at their best.This improvesthe productivity.
