This is an indispensable site for readers and the people who help them. The Reader's Advisor Online (RAO) easily and quickly navigates between book titles and bibliographies and webographies and articles about fiction or non-fiction titles or genres. It includes all Genreflecting materials, and selected essays from The Reader's Advisor's Companion (Shearer and Bürgin, 2001) and Nonfiction Readers' Advisory (Burgin, 2004). Features include an ever updated blog, read-alike search capacity, and very useful ways of searching and browsing to find great reads easy enough for the uninitiated but powerful and comprehensive enough for the reader's advisor.
Let's take my favourite genre, the mystery. A recent survey (Cornog and Raiteri, 2008) states that 510 libraries spent a projected $1.9 million on mysteries alone.
