The Public Library of Law (PLoL) is a free, bare bones electronic legal research tool created by the developers of Fastcase (a much sleeker, attractive and expensive electronic legal research tool that has been around since 1999). On the PLoL, users will find information on cases from the US Supreme Court and Courts of Appeals, court cases from all 50 states from 1997 to the present, federal statutory law and codes from all 50 states, various regulations, court rules and US and state constitutions.
While the PLoL website is visually unattractive, the layout is simple, easy to follow and with the exception of one, Fastcase, free of advertisements.
