El artículo que presentamos alude a la influencia y atracción que ha ido ejerciendo la Iglesia Evangélica de Filadelfia sobre los gitanos españoles a lo largo de las últimas décadas, profundizando en el caso de los gitanos onubenses. Hablaremos de sus orígenes pentecostales y cómo ha conseguido modificar, en algunos casos, costumbres romaníes ancestrales mientras ha acentuado otras de ellas. Todo ello ha supuesto una pérdida de fieles por parte de la IglesiaCatólica, que no dedicó una pastoral específica al mundo gitano hasta los años sesenta delsiglo pasado.
