This one volume encyclopedia (for that is what it is) is a magnificent compilation of information about every aspect of wine production and trade worldwide. It has been put together by two highly respected wine critics and journalists - Jancis Robinson and her assistant Julia Harding. They have drawn together contributions from over 180 experts, including renowned academics and wine writers and specialists in the trade. It must surely be a required reference for anyone who is serious about wine and priced at £40 is not beyond the pocket of anyone who wishes to learn more about the subject. There are over 300 new entries in this edition, and many of the existing entries have been completely revised. The Oxford Companion to Wine was first published in 1994 and has gone from strength to strength with each new edition. There are 50 new contributors alone to the 2015 edition.
