Abstract

According to the World Tourism Organization destinations and companies are aware of the importance of gastronomy to diversify tourism and stimulate local, regional and national economic development (UNWTO, 2012). According to Turismo de Portugal (2017), gastronomy and wines are considered as qualifying assets of Portuguese tourism. For this purpose a literature review was carried out, which allowed the development of a questionnaire survey that was applied to 261 foreign tourists who visited Portugal in 2019.
