Abstract

Roser Berdagué ha traduït fins al dia d’avui més de 325 llibres de l’anglès, francès i italià al català i al castellà. Als 76 anys, continua dedicant la major part del dia a traduir, i no s’imagina la vida sense el repte quotidià d’enfrontar-se a un original per convertir-lo en un nou text. Una part important dels principals autors que hem llegit en els darrers quaranta anys ens han arribat a través de les seves paraules, entre ells Wilkie Collins, George Eliot, Rabelais, Saul Bellow, Josef Brodski, Daniel Defoe, Charles Dickens i Lovecraft.

Roser Berdagué has translated to date more than 325 books from English, French and Italian to Catalan and Spanish. At 76, she keeps on translating most of the day and she cannot imagine life without the daily challenge of writing a new text out of an original text. An important part of the main authors we have read during the last 40 years, such as Wilkie Collins, George Eliot, Rabelais, Saul Bellow, Josef Brodski, Daniel Defoe, Charles Dickens i Lovecraft, came to us through her words.
