For those of you wondering whether to toss your dog-eared copy of the author's 1978 book Male Sexuality and spring for his New Male Sexuality, this reviewer votes "yes." It is updated in areas such as STDs, sexual arousal, male-female relationships, sex for singles and those in long-term relationships, and presents a new nonperformance-based model of sex. There are new chapters on what fathers can do for their sons, concerns about normality in sex, male socialization, and how to initiate sex. The author stresses that the book is not "just an update," but is a rethinking of the subject. Chapters are grouped under larger headings such as "Sexual Reality," "Better Sex," and "Resolving Problems," making its use more versatile for students and professionals who may wish to concentrate on subject areas while lay readers, who...
