Nephrology: Clinical Cases Uncovered is written by a nephrologist who has an obvious zeal and talent for teaching. The book is divided into three sections. The initial section gives an overview of basic renal anatomy and physiology. Standardized abbreviations and normal laboratory values are presented in tables. Detailed laboratory tests, imaging studies, and procedures to consider when diagnosing renal disease are also included.
Section two includes 31 comprehensive patient cases. Fourteen acute renal failure, two hypertension, four urine abnormalities, three acid base, five chronic kidney disease and dialysis, and three renal transplant scenarios are presented.
