At first glance, My Fashion Database (MyFDB) looks like Pinterest's older, edgier sister. The black, white, and hot pink colour scheme with its clean, geometrical design is not what one would generally expect for a database, but if fashion is all about breaking the rules, why shouldn't a fashion database do so as well?
MyFDB aims to deliver the "credits for everything from photographers, hair and make-up stylists, models, art directors, advertising agencies, products, brands, publishers and many more". Access to the informational content begins with images, which MyFDB organizes into six categories: What's New, Recently Collected, Ad Campaigns, People, Magazines, and Editorials. In each, images are linked to the entity that created the original content, and to associated information, such as the collection it was added to, what publication the image originated from, and other contributors to the original content. All links go to individual pages for the person, organization, or publication providing more information and links to other related content.
This content organization, eye-catching and modem, though it may be, creates problems with the database. Having a database reliant on images...
