A 29-year-old pregnant woman developed acute renal failure and rhabdomyolysis after taking misoprostol in an attempt to induce abortion.
After self-administering 8mg of misoprostol (1mg orally and 7mg intravaginally), the woman presented to a hospital emergency department with shaking chills, fever and confusion.
