A man [ age not clearly stated ] developed diverticular perforation during treatment with methotrexate, naproxen and prednisone for rheumatoid arthritis (RA); he was later found to be heterozygous for the C677T allele methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene mutation.
The man, who had no history of diverticulosis, was diagnosed with polyarticular, rheumatoid factor-positive, anticitrullinated peptide antibody-positive RA at age 33 years.
