Social media has reshaped almost every consumer-facing market on the planet. The power of customer voices now, and the interconnectedness of most people’s lives means that organizations need to embrace social media to survive. Those that choose not to, or do so badly, are often left to fall behind their more social media savvy competitors. Social media marketing is a deeply engaging form of communication, as it allows organizations to communicate directly with customers, as well as to huge numbers of current and potential customers with levels of personalization. Yet there are many difficulties when it comes to using social media correctly as an organization. Getting it wrong can have huge consequences.
Social media marketing is facing challenges from the decline in the organic reach of brands and user engagement. This is typically seen in light of the sheer volume of social media content.
