Abstract

The legitimacy of the suffering of women as God's will has been a reality expressed in many instances, including war contexts where sexual violence against women is used as a weapon of war. In this horizon, this article seeks to propose a feminist reading of the cross of Christ, seeking to contrast violence against women's body with the theory of atonement of our sins by Christ. We start our reflection of the women's experience in the context of Colombia's war and, in a second moment, we interpret that reality with feminist Christological reflection of several authors who have opened the way for the recovery of the dignity and worth of women. All this allows us to conclude on the urgent commitment to a feminist reading of the cross to foster peace and justice for all and, of course, for women victims of such violence.
