More than 350 visitors attended the Nonferrous Metals of Siberia conference and exhibition in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, Russia in September. 191 presentations were submitted as well as a visit to the local UC Rusal aluminium smelter and a non-ferrous smelter.
The First International Congress and Exhibition 'Nonferrous metals of Siberia - 2009' took place between 8 - 10 September 2009 in the 'Siberia' International Exhibition and Business Centre, Krasnoyarsk, Russia.
The three day event attracted 358 metallurgists from 18 countries, including 45 experts from 34 companies. Some of the stars of the science world engaged in discussions in the development of the manufacture of nonferrous metals and how to be more environmentally friendly. It also included an exhibition featuring 45 stands displaying the latest equipment and technologies. The event has grown from the previously held Aluminium of Siberia conference to now include other non-ferrous metals.
The congress included conferences under the titles of: The 15th 'Aluminium of Siberia', the 3rd 'Metallurgy of Non-ferrous and Rare Metals' and the 5th 'Gold of Siberia'.
