Korean Women's Associations United
Korean Women's Associations United(KWAU) is composed of 24 women's organizations established in 1987, and its 40,000 members are active nationwide.
In order to solve the problems of the gender-related disadvantages and discriminations to which women are subject in the family, at work, and in society, the KWAU pursues the vision of a society where women are the subjects of society, where democracy and unification are realized, and where men and women participate together and share responsibilities together.
In order to realize its goal, the KWAU carries out the following activities: legislate and revise laws to promote women's rights; mobilize public opinion on alternative women's policies; promote activities to strengthen women's organizations by tasks, sectors, and areas; undertake activities to promote women's political participation and to promote unification and peace in the Korean peninsula; hold the Korean Women's Conference to commemorate March 8th as International Women's Day; publish Democratic Women...
