Abstract On the basis of a special project for teaching reform, in order to change the boring and dull situation of History of Chinese Architecture in students, ancient architecture model was introduced in the teaching process of the pure history course. Through the interpretation, construction, and exhibition stages, the ability of students in grasping the knowledge of architecture history can be strengthened Then, from the historical background, physical composition, artistic conception of space, structural system, detailed structure, and architectural evolution, the positive significance of ancient architecture model to the teaching of the History of Chinese Architecture was discussed, in the hope of providing certain theoretical basis for the teaching of the History of Chinese Architecture.

1 Introduction
The History of Chinese Architecture is a core course of the architecture science discipline. It is an important course of architectural theory. The purpose of teaching is not only to reflect on the review of historical buildings, but also to enhance the thinking of architectural design courses. In view of such important position in the professional teaching system, most universities take the History of Chinese Architecture as a compulsory subject for the postgraduate entrance examination. At present, teaching of the History of Chinese Architecture mainly adopts the teaching system framework of "technology" + "case". Technology mainly refers to the ancient wooden structure features, detailed component evolution and architectural practices in typical dynasties, such as stereobate, tram, railing, paving big carpentry workshop, small carpentry workshop, wall, roof color and decoration; cases refers to the consolidation and explanation of typical ancient architecture such as palace, temple, tomb, religious building, and residential building. Südes and other modern multimedia technologies are often used to show students the historical images of ancient architecture. Such teaching arrangement can bring about excellent effect for presenting the characteristics of the ancient architecture and explaining difficult points, but is difficult to mobilize the students' enthusiasm for learning, and recitation becomes the most effective way to learn the course. From the perspective of teaching methods, we introduced the ancient architecture model into the teaching process.
