This substantially revised and enlarged third edition of the Illustrated Dictionary of Architecture contains more than 3,000 new and updated entries. A huge improvement is the addition, for the first time, of colour photographs taken by the author, which greatly enhances the value of the publication. The previous two editions contained only black and white illustrations, which in many instances limited its usefulness. The typeface is clear and colour illustrations are of good quality and a sensible size.

The introduction explains the layout of the entries, which cover architectural definitions, historic styles and architects, many of which are illustrated but by no means all. The main entries start with capital letters...
