The authors identify as the purpose of this text: to provide an overview and orientation to the Roy Adaptation Model for nursing service personnel and faculty. As indicated by the title, essential elements of the model are clearly presented with the aim of helping nurses integrate components of the Roy model in their application of the nursing process. This text could also serve as a guide for more indepth study of the Roy model.
