This comprehensive encyclopaedia is promoted as a one-stop reference on the subject of child development and behaviour and is aimed at undergraduates, researchers, practitioners and professionals in the field. For such a large work there is no introduction explaining how and why entries were included and the academic level of the contributors, simply a half page preface containing information about encyclopaedias and the editors thanking their editorial team. Although it is a very expensive hardback reference tool at over £600 it is also available as an e-book, which for today's researchers is especially useful allowing access at all times of day across the world.
The encyclopaedia consists of extensive and expert articles on many aspects of child behaviour and development written by more than 450 academic contributors, mainly from American institutions but with a...
