Abstract

Abstract: The use of health apps to inform and communicate about the progress of the COVID 19 pandemic in 2020 has become a fundamental tool, in order to generate health promotion and prevention mechanisms. Through a survey with university students in the city of Lima, we delve into the media consumption of students with and without access to the application, as well as the perceptions and actions of the respondents who have had and have not had coronavirus access to it. The group that did not use the application was more aware of the tragic consequences of COVID-19, the truth is that, as we have detected, the differentiated consumption of each of the groups corresponded to different levels of adherence to the recommendations of the health authorities.
