Abstract

Drug trafficking is a social, political and economic problem. The prohibitions and the toughening of sentences are useless, there is a flight towards criminal law such as criminal policy more apparent than anything else, this conclusions is easily deductible if one takes into account that in short time, the criminal code has suffered two substantial reforms on drugs, extending the subject of the crime and increasing the penalties, by introducing shy when not unsatisfactory, corrective measures. The toughening criminal and police present major problems when it comes to criminal organizations, exceptionally, from time to time falling in networks of justice. We must therefore continue to call attention to some disturbing facts, on the one hand the economic cost that implies maintaining a judicial system that attributes a great dedication to this type of crime, a well as all the topics related or derived directly from it, the courts are genuine piloting, the police and the penitentiary system wasted efforts, one to investigate and others to monitor and enforce sanctionson the other hand it is debatable if it is a matter of demand or supply of drugs, but what is certain is that prohibition worsens things. For this reason movements calling for the decriminalization and liberalization of drugs, are admitted and moderately regulated. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
