In Die Brucke mom Goldenen Horn Germany's Turkishborn writer (and sometinie actress, playwright, and film star) Emine Sevgi Ozdamar has continued with the theme of "a Turkish woman in Germany" that formed the basis of her first, well-received novel, Mutterzunge (1990; released in translation as Mother Tongue by Coach House Press in Toronto in 1994 and now out of print). Like Mutterzu,nge, "The Bridge Over the Golden Horn" has autobiographical strains, but unlike Mutterzunge, the new novel is long and literarv-e.g., more multifaceted.
