ON December 12, 2013, Thomas Anthony Martin Chambers, MRCVS, of 89 Canterbury Road, Wolverhampton, West Midlands. Mr Chambers qualified from Edinburgh in 1944.
David Franklin writes: 'Tam' Chambers knew me from the day I was born. He and his father, the much respected (and often feared) Major Frank Chambers, were in partnership with my father, Doug Franklin, in the Wolverhampton practice of Chambers, Franklin and Chambers (later to become St George's Veterinary Clinic).
Tam was educated at Tettenhall College before going up to the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh, where he enjoyed more success at rugby than in his academic studies. After qualifying in 1944, he served in the Second World War as a captain in the Royal Army Veterinary Corps in Burma. He admitted that coming home at the end of...
