A 49-year-old man developed elevation of liver enzymes and of creatine phosphokinase levels after receiving daptomycin (systemic and lock therapy) for an implantable intra-arterial catheter (IAC) infection.
The man experienced a relapse of his colon cancer, with liver metastases, in March 2012. Despite second-line chemotherapy, his liver metastases progressed and it was decided to administer hepatic intra-arterial chemotherapy (oxaliplatin) with systemic chemotherapy (irinotecan, fluorouracil and cetuximab).
