MeI-Lee Ney is the president of Richard Ney & Associates, Asset Management, Inc., an investment advisory firm, which she joined in 1973. She was the business partner and wife of Richard Ney, author of three books on the stock market, "The Wall Street Jungle," "The Wall Street Gang" and Making It in the Market," the last two of which she edited. She also was co-writer and editor of "The Ney Report," an investment newsletter published from 1976 to 1999. Together, the Neys built an advisory business based on Richard Ney's groundbreaking investment methods, which were notable for protecting the average investor while enabling him to invest more profitably.
Mei-Lee has been employed in the investment industry since 1967, becoming a registered representative with the NASD in 1969 and with the NYSE in 1971. Shortly thereafter, she became one of only two women stockbrokers at the boutique firm, Neuberger, Loeb (subsequently taken over by Bear Stearns), which was widely known for hiring only top-producing brokers.
